"I have had problems with sediment for years, especially when it rains alot. It, the sediment always clogged up my whole house filter. I stumbled onto these sediment catchers. I know there are more expensive ones made. I decided to try the Star Water Systems sediment trapper because Lowes had it in stock at a reasonable price. I did have to purchase two reducers to go from 1 inch down to 1/2 inch. Had to glue them in, 2 screw in waterline couplings and 2 clamps plus pipe dope the liquid thread sealant, I like it better than thread tape, no big deal. Anyway, I got everything I needed at Lowes, to put it in my house waterline.I did the installation, took about 30 minutes. No big deal. I opened my water cutoff from my well tank and let it work. I had no leaks, no problems. Checked it yesterday, had sediment in the bottom of the catcher. I took a gallon jug and put the outlet into the jug, opened the valve and all of the sediment came or rinsed out right into the jug. It works Great."
